Frida is three years old. She had been living in northern Denmark on a llama farm, where she was being kept in a pasture with four male llamas.
Being the only donkey there, she was the ugly duckling and was often alone and unhappy.
After her owners found out she was unable to bear a foal she was no longer wanted. She was passed around in Internet groups and on for-free pages, searching for her forever home.
Fields of Freedom found her and brought her straight to the sanctuary. She had to travel for 4 hours by horse transport to reach Fields of Freedom – a first for her, and very scary.
At first, she was very nervous of humans, which points to her having been abused in the past or at the least treated very unkindly by humans. With patience, she has gradually become more trusting.
Frida has found her soulmate in gentle Aslan, and she has gradually come to really enjoy life at Fields of Freedom, and being brushed and petted by humans.
